Trip Option 1 | Frisco Half Day Guided Fly-Fishing Trip

Half day trips take place in the morning or the afternoon, with the location of the trip catered to your needs. Guide to client ration is never more than three. There are a variety of rivers to choose from in the area. The duration of the trip does not include drive time to and from the fishing area. These trips are great for families and those with limited schedules, or anyone looking for a few hours on the water. Your trip will include everything apart from your Colorado fishing license, required for those 16 and over. Licenses may be purchased in advance on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife web site. These trips are offered year-round.

Cost: $320 for one person, $345 for two people, $495 for three people, each group of three starts over with the cost for one person

Trip Option 2 | Frisco Full Day Guided Fly-Fishing Trip

A full day fishing trip is perfect for anglers wanting to improve their skills with the expertise of an experienced professional guide. Anyone wanting a memorable day on the water will enjoy this longer trip. These trips can be on a variety of rivers as they are offered April 1 to October 31, and the time of year will determine the best spot to fish. They may also be on a lake if the water is too muddy with spring snow melt or heavy rain runoff. The fishing partner for High Country Activities has a huge permit reach that allows them to visit many different areas. All of the fishing out of Frisco, CO is catch and release. Lunch is included and the guide will prepare it streamside, with turkey, roast beef, ham or vegetarian sandwiches, with side dishes that include potato, macaroni, or pasta salad, gourmet chips, and cookies. For an additional fee, hot streamside or catered customized lunches are available. Beverages include bottled water and Gatorade.

Trip Option 3 | Frisco Best of the Day Guided Fly-Fishing Trip

Best of the Day trips are offered from early to late winter, when there is not enough time to offer a full day. They are designed to take advantage of the phenomenal fishing still to be had throughout the winter months, and are offered from November 1 to the end of February. Trips run when the sun is at its highest and at the best time for fishing. Lunch is included, and the guide will prepare it streamside or lakeside, with turkey, roast beef, ham or vegetarian sandwiches, with side dishes that include potato, macaroni, or pasta salad, gourmet chips, and cookies. For an additional fee, hot streamside or catered customized lunches are available. Beverages include bottled water and Gatorade.

Trip Option 3 | Frisco Full Day Float Fishing Trip

Guided float trips are conducted out of a drift boat (dory) or raft, and are offered from Frisco on the Colorado, Eagle, and Roaring Fork Rivers. Float trips are an ideal way for anglers to fish parts of the river not accessible from the shore. These trips are only offered for a full day due to travel time, the logistics of transporting gear, and rigging a boat. Lunch is included, and the guide will prepare it streamside, with turkey, roast beef, ham or vegetarian sandwiches, with side dishes that include potato, macaroni, or pasta salad, gourmet chips, and cookies. For an additional fee, hot streamside or catered customized lunches are available. Beverages include bottled water and Gatorade. These trips are offered year-round, and are only for two people per boat with the guide as pilot.

These take place on Spinney Mountain Reservoir, south of Breckenridge, Fairplay, and Hartsell. Lake floats are a great alternative to river floats during heavy runoff, when rivers are swollen with spring snow melt or rain. These are just full day trips, and are for two people only. Lunch is included, and the guide will prepare it lakeside, with turkey, roast beef, ham or vegetarian sandwiches, with side dishes that include potato, macaroni, or pasta salad, gourmet chips and cookies. After a great day of float fishing your guide will set up camp riverside while you can enjoy some more wade fishing. A surf and turf dinner is prepared for you fireside with all the fixings. Tour Option 1 | Fishing on Lake Dillon – Lesson/Clinic

You will have your choice of fly casting lessons, spin casting lessons or a combination of both. Your guides will spend a half hour of verbal instruction teaching you about the bugs and other things trout eat, and show you which lures and flies to use in trout fishing. After one hour of lessons you will go out for two hours on a pontoon boat, where you can sit and stand comfortably and spin or fly cast for the various species in Lake Dillon. Your trip will be tailored to your choice of trolling, vertical jigging, fly casting, or spin casting. Up to six people fishing per boat. Children ten and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

Trolling with Down riggers, verticle jigging with i-pilot trolling motor, and early morning and late evening trophy brown trips using fly or spin rods to imitate something only big fish eat, are offered.

You will need to be able to go on a short trek on Lake Dillon to various hot spots for fishing where your ice fishing hut will be set. There will also be opportunities to venture out of the huts and to try different depths and fishing holes. For times when there are deep snow conditions on the lake, you will need snowshoes for the trek to the fishing holes. These may also be rented from the fishing outfitter.
