If you have never hit a drive in the thin alpine air of the Rocky Mountains, then you are in for a treat. You will also have the option of playing at some spectacularly beautiful courses, with mountain peaks as your back drop. There are public golf courses both in Breckenridge and the highest golf course in the country with nine holes in nearby Leadville. Keystone Resort has two golf courses that are open to the public, one set against the Snake River (River Course) and the other is a links course at a historic ranch property (Keystone Ranch). Silverthorne has the Raven at Three Peaks Golf Course below the Eaglesnest wilderness area. There are also courses at the ski resorts of Copper Mountain, Vail and Beaver Creek.
