Rentals are available at the Frisco Bay Marina, that has been newly refurbished to allow a wake free environment. This is a shallow bay with many islands and inlets to navigate. For the more experienced and adventurous you are also able to visit bald eagle, osprey, and blue heron nesting sites. Paddle boards of regular size are available for those 13 and older, and there are smaller boards for children 7-12. Hobie Stand Up Pedal boards are also available to rent, with extra width, a specific hull design, and handlebars for extra stability. If you really want a challenge you are able to take a guided paddle board trip down the Upper Colorado.

Trip Option 1 | Stand Up Paddle Board & Peddle Board Rentals

sup rentals dillonYou are able to rent boards to paddle on Lake Dillon from the Frisco Bay Marina. Both paddle boards and the more stable pedal boards are offered, as well as smaller paddle boards for children 7-12. The minimum rental on a paddle board is two hours and one hour on a pedal board, but you can go for more. You are only able to book for a maximum of two hours online, so if you would like to book for longer call the marina to make a reservation. All of the availability is not displayed online, so call the marina for extra boards. For the summer of 2020 due to Covid restrictions reservations are required,

Cost Paddle Board : $40 for two hours, $10 per additional hour
Cost Pedal Board: $35 for one hour,  $55 for two hours, $20 per additional hour
Trip Times: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Minimum: 7+
Maximum: 250 lbs
Duration: 1 – 8 hours

Included: paddle board or pedal board, personal flotation device, paddle, safety talk
Recommended to bring: comfortable clothing that will keep you warm if you get wet, bathing suit, drip dry shorts or leggings, rash guard or non-cotton shirt, shoes with a good sole that can get wet and will not come off your feet – tennis shoes, water shoes, athletic sandals with strap (no flip flops or crocs), sunblock, waterproof camera, dry clothes for after your rental.

Important Notes: Meet at the Frisco Bay Marina 30 minutes before your rental, 48 hour cancellation policy with 20% of rental fee charged for cancellations within 48 hours, rentals may be delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather. All children 13 and under are required to wear a life jacket at all times. All rentals are subject to a 8.875% tax. All renters are required to leave a credit card, drivers license, and keys as security while on the water. Stand Up Paddle Boarding Colorado River

For those of you who would like more of a challenge, you can take on the flowing waters of the Colorado River for a five mile excursion. This trip would be great for surfers and experienced paddle boarders as well as families and reunion groups with multiple generations. Granny can cheer her granddaughter on from the comfort of her raft. The stretch of the Colorado River that is used is the Upper Colorado River south of Kremmling.  You will go around sandy islands and see abandoned mining cabins along the Union Pacific Railroad.

Trip Option 1 | Half Day Stand Up Paddle Board Colorado River

kayaking coloradoIf you want a little extra excitement or independence on the Colorado River scenic float and you are aged 10 and over, then try a stand up paddle board. You can explore the beauty of the Upper Colorado River in the little Gore Canyon while splashing through riffles and the beginner Class II rapids, learning to keep your balance or kneeling on a paddle board. A guide will accompany your group but you will paddle your own paddle board. No experience necessary but be prepared to take a swim. You can warm up with a stop at the riverside hot springs.
Cost: $79 – $89
Minimum: 10+
Trip Times: 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM
Duration: 4 hours

Included: Wetsuits, splash jackets, helmets, paddles and life-jackets.
