Another option is to descend out of the high mountains to zip over the Alkali Canyon near Wolcott, Colorado. Trip Option 1 | Fremont Pass Prospector Zip Line OPENING MAY 18, 2018


22511_808438599264269_4339024761500817881_nThis course is located below Freemont Pass on the way to Leadville, about a 20 minute drive from Interstate 70. The 2000 acre property features more than 50 patented historic gold mines. Some of the many mine shafts are visible on your tour. You will travel to the beginning of the course either by 6 Ton Monster Truck or Polaris ATV, and your guide will share some of the mining history of the property. Your six zips start at 11,500 feet and are all dual lines 400’ to 850’ long, four lines allow for two people to zip at once, there is one single line and the final zip is for triples. You will soar over Big English Creek, waterfalls, canyons, wildflower meadows as well as the tracks of the historic Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad, with the possibility of its steam train puffing up to Climax during your crossing. You are able to add a delicious lunch to the 12:00 PM tour.

Trip Option 2 | Fremont pass Rails & Zip Line Opening 5-26-18


leadville train ridesCheck in at the base camp to receive your voucher to ride on the LEADVILLE COLORADO & SOUTHERN RAILROAD. A shuttle will take you to the train depot in Leadville. You will then board your historic train and leave the valley floor on a ride ascending 1000 feet to meet your zip line guides at 11,000 feet. After a hearty box lunch served in a high mountain yurt and flight training school, you will start on your Colorado zip line tour. Your zips will take you back to your vehicle waiting for you at base camp. Early and late season rides will eat lunch on the train.

After a scenic nature hike to get to the start of the course, take on six zips of varying length through the trees and cliffs before crossing up and over Chicago Creek for an exhilarating finish.

Trip Option 1 | Arkansas Valley Zip Line

This zip line course is integrated into the wooded and craggy surroundings in the mountainous 43-acre Gold Camp property. Take in the views of snow-capped peaks and the Arkansas River as you zip from cliff to cliff between the pine and aspen trees. This camp is also rich in mining and outlaw history. Just up the road at the next town, Doc Holiday shot his last man. Your professional guide will make sure you have a safe and rewarding zip line tour while giving you interpretive information on local ecology and history. Six zips over two hours take you over 3,000 feet. No experience needed.
